Working on behalf of the HPower Group I was contracted as the Production Director to oversee the technical and event infrastructure delivery of an ambitious live televised event produced by the DCMS and BBC Studios.

The live performance took place at the Menin Gate and in the Market Square of Ypres. The event staged at multiple locations within the town included a number of musical and spoken performances from members of the Military and stars of stage and screen including Dame Helen Mirren, and a specially written piece by War Horse author Michael Morpurgo.

The event and site environment comprised, performer walkways, 3 stages, multiple lighting and audio positions, cable bridges, relay screens, accessibility platforms, toilets, media and broadcast compounds, an elevated Royal Dias and VIP seating tribunes

The event was set against the backdrop of the historic Cloth Hall, a building standing at 125 metres wide and 70 metres tall. This became a huge projection canvas with 58 projectors across 7 towers projecting a colossal 133,632,000 pixels seamlessly across the front, clock tower and side facades.

4,000 balloted guests attended the BAFTA and multi award winning event alongside senior Belgium and British Royals and the British and Belgian Prime Ministers amongst other dignitaries.
